Making you smile on a Monday

…and all I have to do is tell you that I live in Spain, it’s June and it’s CLOUDY! And it has been for the past few days.
While a little rest from the heat is nice and means you can do things like go to the supermarket without melting into a pool… I’m terrified that when I come back to the UK in about 6 weeks, I won’t have had much opportunity to top up my tan. That would be a disaster!
Mind you, just to be picky, if it can just hang around until tomorrow, that would be nice…for tomorrow is a fiesta here..the fiesta of San Juan…and you know what we all do? We go for a big party on the beach with our tents and our alcohol and the very drunk among us jump in the sea at midnight to wash away evil spirits…..(I only put my feet in because God knows what kind of creepy fish are in the sea at night)
Last year, we didn’t really know anyone and it was just The Boy and me in our little tent:
…but this year, we actually KNOW people…I think there will be about 12 of us…with wine and vodka and sandwiches (we thought about a disposable BBQ but no one can be bothered with the hassle) and a little blue cooler of beer….
We start at about 4pm…and finish some time the next day. It might will get messy. There will be photos which I promise to share…
I’m just glad we live right near the beach now..as fun as it is to camp out, I don’t like sand in my pants.

But somehow I managed to read “vodka sandwiches”… Now they sound interesting!

Maybe I should make some alcoholic lollies? I think the bread would go soggy if I made vodka sandwiches!

It sounds like a lot of fun, I wish I could go to the beach and relax! No beach for me until September though when I visit my parents in Cornwall – and I doubt it will be warm enough to me to even dip a toe in the ocean!!

Smidge get yourself in some sunshine and it will make you feel a bit better x
Clouds are deceptive, as I just found out putting jeans and a hoody on to walk the dogs and discovering after about 5 mins that it’s humid as helllllllllllllll
Fiesta time though woop woop for vodka!

Jo yes, they can be here too…I mean it’s not cold, there’s people in the sea! But you can walk around in it without having a sweat shower.
What fun things should I do with my vodka? I fear I’ve left it too late for the good old vodka watermelon…

That sounds like so much fun! If I was there I would probably be hiding under a tree somewhere in the shade until the sun went down. Weather here is not much better! Cloudy and rain for the next couple of days – I like it though because I can walk outside without dropping SPF four hundred and five.

Elle it should be…if I don’t get drunk too soon!
MissH I’m not actually much of a camper…which is why I’ll be running home at the last minute! Luckily we’re only 5 mins away!
Mr Fox We’re not going out until early evening…I don’t want to get all hot and sweaty! People have big gazebos and things down on the beach though, so you could sit under one of those with some hot Spanish men

That’s true! I used to live there, with my parents & while I was at uni. It also rains a hell of a lot!! Let’s hope for sunshine, not rain – for both of us!!

My family lived in a place in the Philippines called San Juan and we celebrated that fiesta too! I hope you had a great time. Kinda worried though… you haven’t been responding to comments since then. I hope you’re not STILL hung over

Sounds like a great time. It has been raining here for what seems like two weeks straight. I’m starting to get Cabin Fever in June!
