All fingers and thumbs

…crazy commuters #1millionandsomething.
I couldn’t help but stare at this lady on the train home last night. I know it was a bit cold and dark and horrible…but seek comfort in a nice scarf or a warm cosy coat….not by shoving you thumb in your mouth:
(ps. she is smudge to try and protect her identity, not becasue she’s been out in the rain)
What was unusual about this thumb sucker (apart from a pink Jellybaby taking picutres of her) was that she didn’t really suck the top of her thumb as most would….she actually shoved her whole thumb in her mouth down the side of her teeth, up to and including the knuckle bit and then kinda chewed it….
Sorry if this is you but… come on, you’re ON A TRAIN!

My sister in law sucks her thumb. Only at the end but still. She gave up when she was getting married but it doesnt seemed to have worked. She just looks like a big fat baby.

I’ve done that before – but not as a sucking, more as an annoying food-stuck-between-the-teeth fishing out (on the occasion that tongue manipulation just doesn’t cut the mustard 
)

rooting around for a lost bit of food isn’t so bad…but hse was at this for half an hour….and would occasionally plop her thumb out, turn her hand around and start again

Although her thumb can’t really be big enough…..and she shouldn’t chew. That’s definitely a no no.

My sister does this when she’s really tired and stressed. I don’t think she realises she’s doing it. That’s not a pic of her tho….

I used to play a game on long train journeys where I’d attempt to take as many photos of different people as possible without them noticing. The riskier the photo, the better. And if they were doing something weird like thumb-sucking, that would have been like… a winner. Well done, you won my game! Hahah.

Mr Frog i think i can safely say that if she was practicing, she has an AWFUL technique…
Soupy i don’t think i would have done more than bat an eyelid if she’s just been a normal thumb sucker..but this was just OTT!
Hooli she was reading a book…..didn’t look too distressed!

Kind of odd for a grown woman to be sucking her thumb isn’t it? Its makes her look like a sorry little child.

My ex used to suck her thumb. Although only in the privacy of her own/parents home. She was 30 :/
